Nov. 27th (18:00), Memorial Service for the East Japan Earthquake at Great Buddha Hall (Admission Free)

Since the Great East Japan Earthquake on Marh 11th,  2011, the memorial service has been held in the affected areas every year  jointly with Todaiji Temple and Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine to pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased and for recovery for the affected areas. (Called: Joint Prayer) The memorial service was suspended for several years due to the coronavirus pandemic, but was held at Todaiji Temple the year before last and at Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine last year.

 This year, the memorial service will be held at Todaiji Temple as follows.

Place: The Great Buddha Hall

🌟From 17:30, visitors can enter from Saigakumon gate (map) at the Great Buddha Hall. 

The entrance, Saigakumon gate will be closed at 20:00.  The central approach to GBH cannot be entered.

Admission: Free from 17:30
